Hans Zimmer is a music producer and film composer from Germany. His credits span over hundreds of films/movies. He has done work for the popular Disney film the Lion King, to popular movies such as Gladiator, Pirates of the Caribbean, Inception, Sherlock Holmes and more.

He spent his earlier years in the U.K before moving to the U.S.

Hans Zimmer is considered the elite of the elite in his field. His music and style spans a wide variety in terms of musical blends, instrumentation and themes. He has a way of seamlessly blending orchestral and electronic music sounds together through synthesis.

He grew up taking piano lessons but later quit since he didn’t like the idea of following structured lessons.

During his earlier years he worked with various artists and did jingles but it wasn’t until his scoring for the film ‘Rain Main’ in 1988 that he began to gain the recognition he deserved. Again, his method of using synthesizers was what gave him the uniqueness in his musical creations that stood out.

Hans Zimmer is considered a ‘musical genius.’ He has a knack for creating music that matches the aesthetic of whatever movie he’s working on. Of course, sometimes, it’s trial and error.

Over the years he has grown into a household name, winning Grammy awards, Golden Globe awards and an Academy award for his work on the 1994 Lion King movie.

He became the head of the ‘film music division at DreamWorks and also founded his production company called Remote Control Productions.’

From conducting and recording live musicians to synthetically creating the musical performance for his compositions himself, Hans Zimmer is one of the industry’s most influential and innovate film composers of his time.

Commentary:

From listening to Hans Zimmer’s works and being a fan myself, I’d have to say he is a great inspiration to me and other artists and musicians who love film/movie score music and maybe want to get into that field. His creations are unique, well thought out and he has some of the most beautiful arrangements and instrumentation blends I’ve heard in that field of music. The way he honed his talent and refined it over the years shows a classic example that perseverance and hard work pays off.

Hans Zimmer has a true gift of making the scenes in movies come alive and portray the mixture of emotions intended through his music. He is an invaluable contribution to the film music industry and has made quite a name for himself.
